Wednesday, November 20th, at the AHA General meeting. our guest artist was Robert Pietrantonio.  The last time Robert was a guest artist was in October 2018 where he did a sketching demonstration using one of our AHA members as a live model.
His demo this time was Portrait Drawing, Interpretative Realism. How to translate something that captures the accuracy of reality, but at the same time has your own unique style and personal imprint in it.
He studied at various classical academic drawing and painting schools in the USA. Namely: 'The Atelier' in Minneapolis, Minnesota, School of Representational Art in Chicago and the 'R. H. Ives Gammell Studios' in Boston, MA. He has classical art training. He also visited Florence, Italy and other parts of Europe for a period of time (like France) to study the Old Masters in the great museums of Europe. He won the Greenshields Grant years ago. He uses charcoal, pencil and oil paints as mediums.
