2019 ACTIVITIES
St-Mary's Hall - Wednesday April 17th - Members' Meeting
Guest Artist Angelo Galerio gave a painting demonstration to the AHA members. A graduated from Concordia in Fine Arts, Studio Painting and Drawing. He also assisted in many learning workshops with popular artists in Maine, New York, and the Charlevoix region. He is also part of the Travelling Art Band, a recognized group of career artists from Québec that travel to locations known for plein air painting (live art). AHA FALL EXHIBITION

Wednesday, November 20th, at the AHA General meeting. our guest artist was Robert Pietrantonio. The last time Robert was a guest artist was in October 2018 where he did a sketching demonstration using one of our AHA members as a live model.
His demo this time was Portrait Drawing, Interpretative Realism. How to translate something that captures the accuracy of reality, but at the same time has your own unique style and personal imprint in it. He studied at various classical academic drawing and painting schools in the USA. Namely: 'The Atelier' in Minneapolis, Minnesota, School of Representational Art in Chicago and the 'R. H. Ives Gammell Studios' in Boston, MA. He has classical art training. He also visited Florence, Italy and other parts of Europe for a period of time (like France) to study the Old Masters in the great museums of Europe. He won the Greenshields Grant years ago. He uses charcoal, pencil and oil paints as mediums. |
