Kathy is originally from Maine, however, she now lives in Coteau-du-Lac,
Quebec, where her studio and art gallery are situated. She enjoys
travelling and takes every opportunity to paint while doing so.
Having had a keen
interest in the Arts from an early age, the creative process of
painting developed in the late 1980s when she first met and studied
with Tanya Axiuk. Since then, she has taken classes from the
Scottsdale Artists School, the Tucson Art Academy in Arizona, Loyola
College in Ontario and several art classes and workshops with other
internationally known artists, including a two-week Plein Air class
in Limoux, France. Though oil painting remains her preferred medium,
she has considerably broadened her techniques over the years by
working with pastels, acrylics, watercolours, mixed media, portrait
sketching, drawing and sculpture.

Kathy finished an
undergraduate degree in Psychology before doing her Master's degree
at McGill University in Counseling Psychology. She worked as a
teacher and counselor for many years, a background that has provided
valuable insights for the art and team-building workshops she has
been offering since 2005. In 2007, she completed the Certified
Paverpol Instructor course - a new sculpture medium from the
Netherlands - which she has also been teaching since that time.

Plein Air painting is
Kathy’s passion and she paints outdoors whenever possible. When she
is not out painting, you can find her working in her studio, where
she likes to use both colour and brush strokes to interpret a still
life or a magnificent view of nature. Her goal is to continue
expressing on canvas the passion she feels while painting the beauty
she sees all around.

Kathy has exhibited at
many solo shows, participated in group exhibitions and in juried
shows throughout Quebec and in the United States. Her work has also
been shown in several galleries, offices and at local exhibits and
has been on permanent display at “la Galerie du Coin” in
Valleyfield, Québec since 2009. It is also in many private
collections across Canada, the United States and Austria.

laisse encore inspirer par la simple portée de l’ombre sur un objet;
