Born in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, I am primarily a self-taught artist. My serious interest in art began while I was attending John Rennie High School in Pointe Claire. Throughout the years, I attended workshops in landscape, as well as portraiture and life drawing. Along the way, I developed an interest in photography, painting on ceramics, watercolours, oils and pastels. Currently, I am painting primarily in acrylic, with both brush and painting knife.

In my spare moments, I create bead jewellery and also wire-wrap stone cabochons. I am now using my own painted designs to crochet and embroider with beads – so many beads, so little time!

As a small child, I had the insatiable urge to interpret our world of light and shadow, its extremes and in-betweens. I am privileged to belong to a plein-air group, which provides me with many visual opportunities. Every time I open my eyes, I feel like a camera registering multiple images, scanning the horizon for new and exciting subjects at the same time constantly fighting the battle between photo-realism and the abstract.
