Quoique mon expression artistique
peins principalement à l'encaustique, technique picturale ancienne,
qui se prête merveilleusement aux formes d'expression
contemporaines.

Desert navajo
Colours have always
interested me because they are the tools by which emotions and
vibrations of life can be expressed. They inhabit our existence: by
the mass of blue in the sky, by the green of the hills and the
fields, by the grey of the mountains, by the gilded yellow of the
wheat shafts...Colours accompany us. They are the witnesses of
nature and the mystery of our perception.
Having experimented
with ceramic sculpture, engraving, photography, various artistic
mediums for some time, I am now exploring painting with this old and
new medium called encaustic. This medium offers many qualities:
vibrating colours, traces engraved in the wax, layers created by the
accumulation of matter on the support, and the multiple textures
which overlap. It is a medium which allows for spontaneity and
stands the test of time. Encaustic appears easy to use but since one
must use heat, it asks mastery and patience, control and letting go.
