Monique Verdier

Montreal-born visual artist, Monique Verdier, began formal Fine Arts training in 1983. Painting is her way of telling stories while enticing the viewer to link to their own story. Avoiding style labelling, Monique has recently expanded her palette with encaustics, the oldest painting medium since the Pharaohs. Her intention is to depict a symbolic language which might trigger an emotional awakening in the viewer.

Her paintings are hanging in corporate and public collections. A milestone was the acquisition by l’Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal at La Place des Arts of a mixed-media portrait of Maestro Kent Nagano conducting Schoenberg’s Gurre Leider.
