Denis nous a donné une toute nouvelle façon  de  peindre . La préparation des couleurs, le bon mélange des médiums et solvant, les pinceaux  et surtout la charte des valeurs a comparer avec nos couleurs et celle de la photo et ajuster.  J'ai beaucoup aimé et Denis était très généreux de ses trucs et astuces.  (Gisele Lapalme)

What I liked about Denis's workshop was his knowledge and his obvious vast teaching experience. I also very much appreciated his tools (color scale), his experimentation with medium, his use of a nontoxic cleaner, his demos and his step-by-step approach. (Kathy Cayer-Daigle)

I told Denis that I found him to be an excellent teacher. It goes without saying that his portraits are world class! I found his choice of colors very different from what I have used and I love the idea of using pure pigments.  I will have to explore using these colours more in my portraits. The use of the value scale next to our paintings and the fact that he draws from a life size photo were a great help. I will continue to use both in future portrait paintings. (Val Cole)

I do not work in oils so my painting was a bit of a challenge but I learned a great deal from Denis, particularly the mixing of colours.  His palette was beautiful and it made a huge improvement in my painting. (Helen Rodrique-Lamothe)

I am a photographer and the workshop was my first time painting with oil paint. It was two very inspirational days with a very knowledgeable and passionate teacher. I liked the demonstrations on both days and watching the teacher painting throughout the process was very helpful. I now know about pigments, mixing the colour palette, and painting a portrait over two days. I also appreciated the feed-back on my work. (Katinka Rubin)
