Aquarelliste depuis plus de 25 ans, je peins dans mon studio à Hudson aussi souvent que possible. Mon approche est simple et intuitive, je me laisse toucher par la beauté de la nature, l’espace. Je suis particulièrement intéressée par la lumière et ses effets, les contrastes marqués. Mes sujets privilégiés sont surtout le paysage, qu’il soit intimiste ou grandiose; les scènes de rue, tranquilles ou encore vivantes et enjouées; les architectures; les vitrines de boutiques et tout ce qui attire mon attention et pique ma curiosité. J 'ai été mandatée à l'occasion pour peindre des aquarelles de résidences privées ou de commerces par leurs propriétaires ou pour offrir en cadeau. Également je peins des portraits d’animaux sur commande. Je travaille surtout dans mon studio d’après des photos que je prends moi-même. Lorsque je suis sur la route ou lorsque je voyage, je photographie beaucoup en prévision de mes futures aquarelles. Je visualise et je cadre en conséquence. Dans mon studio, je dessine mon sujet et puis j’applique la couleur au pinceau directement et plus librement. Les qualités de l’aquarelle sont la spontanéité, la fraîcheur, la transparence, l’éclat et cela doit se refléter dans le tableau fini.
Watercolorist for more than 25 years, I paint in my studio, in Hudson, as often as I can. I try to keep it simple, the beauty of nature touches me and gives me the desire to paint. Light and its effects on objects, contrasts that defines the shape of things are among my interests. My favourite subjects : landscapes, intimate or panoramic; street scenes, animated or quiet; architectures; buildings; places that attracts my attention, makes me wonder. I have been commissioned to paint private homes or businesses by their owners, for publicity purposes or to be offered as gifts. I also paint custom pets portraits. I work in my studio, from my own photographs. When I am on the road or when I travel I take a lot of pictures and I study the composition to frame properly. I can imagine the finish painting before I take the picture. In the studio, I draw my subject and then apply the color with a brush directly and freely.
