Some of our members memories:
Along with being a dedicated artist, Shernya was also a generous person. When I chaired a programme committee for AHA, she offered us the use of her studio in her barn for our meetings. We used to pat her horse in her stall on the ground floor, before mounting the steep stairs to Shernya's studio for our monthly meetings. (Maureen Slattery)
She was a very good friend, we shared a love of horses as well as art. Spent many hours together painting and discussing techniques as well animals, especially horses. She was a talented gardener and would often share her plants as well as advice about such. I will miss both her and Barney very much
A lovely person, rest in peace, Shernya (Hilary Ford)
I loved spending time with Shernya, on trips in Metis, at her studio and during exhibitions. She always shared with compassion her knowledge and her passion with integrity. She will be remembered as a unique caring person. Long live her art. (Elaine Ethier)
This is such sad news. I took a few workshops with Shernya and loved her dearly as she was an amazing person and a great artist. She will be sadly missed. (Maria Reinhard)
Her work was inspirational. We have lost one of the great ones! I was proud to consider her my friend. (Louise Aiken)
